Photography, Diving, Kitesurfing, Sailing and a variety of alpine sports
What's a typical day like for you?
What are the fondest memories from your upbringing that you feel impacted your life choices and lifestyle today?
Learning to sail aged 7, dive aged 10, and turning those passions in to a first career as a Royal Navy Clearance Diver that led me to explore the world, and in turn, unveil a desire to document it as a professional photographer.
What/who currently inspires you?
A variety of adventurers and explorers, documentary and portrait photographers.
What path did you choose after leaving school?
University, Britannia Royal Naval College, 17 years in the Navy and then onto freelance.
What have been the biggest challenges you've had to overcome?
Identifying a combination of genres that inspire my creative process and enable its viability.
What would you most like to change in the world/environment today?
A growing sense of nationalism and regression that can only lead to further destabilise the political landscape, and shift our focus on engendering a sense of global citizenship and environmental stewardship.
What do you value most in life?
Are there any books/documentaries that have guided your thinking?
Many. Numerous books of Jacques Cousteau and Mayol. Hans Hass. Francesco "Pipin" Ferreras and a plethora of Nat Geo, BBC and Discovery documentaries.
What brings you the most joy?
Time spent with friends, old and new. Time spent afloat and time undersea, exploring the depth and showing others the joy of the ocean.
What legacy do you hope to leave?
To contribute toward the global narrative shooting projects that will raise awareness, appreciation and deepen the understanding of our oceans and ecosystems.
