Testimonial

β€œScuba diving was like being on another planet. The sand, corals… looking around and seeing all sorts of fishes in the sea, seeing a world I had never seen before… Feeling that joy, that feeling of people coming together to help… Feeling relaxed… Breathing and sensing that life is beautiful…”

Interview with Bailey Letson

Wheel the World β”‚ Maretking Team β”‚ Santiago, Chile

What is a typical day like for you?

We are a team of around 20 people. While our base is in California, we have teammates all around the world, in Chile, Belgium, France, and Mexico, so a typical day tends to vary.

What are the fondest memories from your upbringing that you feel impacted your life choices and lifestyle today?

Wheel the World started as a story of adventure and friendship. Two childhood friends, Alvaro and Camilo, figuring out how to be the first people to complete the Circuit in Torres del Paine in a wheelchair. Their determination, adventurous spirit, and friendship helped them achieve their goal, and that's how Wheel the World was born.

What/who currently inspires you?

Our community and travelers, who explore every day without limits.

Are there any books/documentaries that have guided your thinking?

The documentary on Netflix, Crip Camp, is a great story of a group of activists working toward an accessible world. We highly recommend watching it!
