Peter Chamberlain began his photography journey in black & white with a Pentax film camera and Ilford film.
Based in London, he specialises in weddings and corporate events whilst saving up to travel and take his photography to the Ocean. As a talented surf photographer, Peter has experienced some amazing places but his passion began on a family holiday to Cornwall where he fell in love with the sea.
What/who currently inspires you?
Just being in the ocean is such a special experience. Especially with what is going on with covid. Being trapped in London has got me inspired to be in the ocean and plan trips even more.
What path did you choose after leaving school?
I became a lifeguard, saved hard in order to travel, and ended up in Australia becoming a surf instructor. That got my travel addiction going.
What do you value most in life?
Experiences, worth far more than money.
What would you most like to change in the world/environment today?
People, we are blind to the fact that the ocean is not a dumping ground yet do most really care?
Are there any books/documentaries that have guided your thinking?
Just reading any surf publications when I was younger stoked the adventure in me.
What brings you the most joy?
Seeing my work in print, hoping that some young kid gets the inspiration I did all those years ago looking at surf mags.
What legacy do you hope to leave?
The right time is now. Go see.
