What are the fondest memories from your upbringing that you feel impacted your life choices and lifestyle today?
My family on my dad's side comes from an island in France (L'ile d'Yeu on the Atlantic coast). I spent my entire childhood there fishing and being in constant contact with the ocean. My father was also freediving. it has always fascinated me.
What/who currently inspires you?
Currently, I am fascinated by the blue whale that I have not yet had the opportunity to meet during my dives. In terms of work, I admire the photos of another French photographer: Greg Lecoeur.
What path did you choose after leaving school?
My path is rather atypical, to tell the truth. After studying history, I turned to the production of shows in France (one-man show and dance). Photography only came late in my life 5 years ago (I was 35). And it wasn't until 2 years later that I specialized in underwater photography around cetaceans. There is no age to start and live your dreams!
What do you value most in life?
Freedom, the protection of flora and fauna as well as the discovery of the world are what have the most values in my eyes.
What would you most like to change in the world/environment today?
In the current situation, a lot of things to change. Even if this is improving, the Human has not yet realized that he is part of a universe which must keep its balance. It is his responsibility to guarantee the sustainability of the earth but also of the oceans. For my part my underwater specialization I would like to participate in changing the world's outlook on this hidden universe that are the oceans to better protect them.
Are there any books/documentaries that have guided your thinking?
In France, there was a precursor who rocked all my youth: Jacques-Yves Cousteau. These films and TV show revealed to the public the beauty and fragility of the seabed. I invite all who can watch his film "L'ODYSEE".
What brings you the most joy?
The laughter of a child ...
What legacy do you hope to leave?
The wonder of a child looking at my photos and the desire to participate in the protection of the oceans.
