THE BIG BUILD
Restoring Indonesia’s Coral Reefs
We’ve just finished up on what was an incredible experience with the Mars Sustainable Solutions team in Indonesia! Over the past week, we've been fortunate enough to witness their unwavering dedication to coral reef restoration, which they've been actively pursuing for the past 15 years.
We’ve been helping to document their most recent project that blew us away: the Big Build! This massive undertaking took place in Indonesia's stunning Spermonde Archipelago, and it was a true collaboration involving 44 partners from government agencies, NGOs, businesses, and local communities.
Together, they planted a staggering 30,000 corals, and that's not all. They also constructed a massive 2,500 square meter reef, providing a safe haven for marine life and supporting the fragile ecosystem.
Being able to witness this project firsthand was nothing short of awe-inspiring. We saw divers working tirelessly to carefully transplant corals, experts sharing their knowledge with local communities, and the incredible teamwork that brought everyone together.
What's even more amazing is the long-term impact this project will have. It's not just about the corals they planted or the reef they built. It's about revitalizing the entire ecosystem, supporting biodiversity, and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come!
Kudos to the Mars Sustainable Solutions team and all the partners involved for their commitment to this vital cause. Their dedication and passion are truly making a difference in protecting our oceans and preserving the beauty of our planet.
